Sustainability Policy

Railscape strive to provide responsible vegetation management and environmental works that minimises the adverse impacts and enhances the positive impacts of our work on the environment and on the local, national and global communities for current and future generations.

We are committed to the principles of sustainable land management, effective stewardship and enhancement of biodiversity balanced with safety, efficiency and transparency in working practice. Our business faces both challenges and opportunities; due to their direct impact on us and our stakeholders we have prioritized the following issues:

  • The effects of vegetation management on flora, fauna and local communities
  • Recycling and re-use of waste generated from our activities
  • Controlling energy consumption to reduce depletion of finite and non-renewable resources
  • Controlling emissions to reduce local air pollution and climate change
  • Control of pollution to land and water and implementation of effective emergency procedures
  • Implementation of a behavioural safety culture to Work Safe and to support our people and their communities through training and

We firmly believe that careful management of vegetation to best practice standards can mitigate for long-term impacts and provide sustainable solutions. Our attention to environmental, social and economic responsibility includes working within and exceeding legal requirements in order to demonstrate leadership on these issues and to support all our clients in effective stewardship of the land under their control.

We commit to minimising our environmental impacts in the areas of waste and energy consumption; we will recycle or re-use100% of the green waste removed from site and will control and reduce energy consumption in relation to turnover through use of local resource and effective cross- contract planning to limit mileage travelled.

Senior reviews of our progress will be held at least once per year and management reviews will be conducted quarterly

This policy is designed to cover all commercial and railway projects and shall be updated annually to address relevant issues of the commercial and rail sectors, to support our client’s sustainability objectives and address the requirements contained within ISO 14001:2004.

This policy is made public by issue as required and by display on the company notice boards. All employees shall be briefed on this policy.
